Kim
A Duffy
Managing Director, Australasia Internet Security Systems (ISS
Australasia)
Kim has held a variety of senior management positions and has a vast
knowledge of international technology markets. Kim’s successful and eclectic
career is a reflection of his specialisation in technology and service delivery.
Kim directed the outsourcing business group for Mincom and was Executive Vice
President for International Operations. Later as CEO of Indus International
(formerly known as TSW International), he established the company’s presence
in the Asia Pacific region and rejuvenated its SE Asian operations. Kim joined
ISS in 2001. Since that time, the company’s penetration into the Australasian
market has been exponential. Indeed, ISS now protects the internet operations of
Australia’s most critical and sensitive government departments as well as
financial institutions and major telecommunications providers.
Erik
Guldentops
Executive Professor, Management School, University of Antwerp (UAMS)
Erik teaches IT risk management, control, security, audit and governance. He
also maintains several high level consulting relationships and is an Advisor to
the Boards of the IT Governance Institute and ISACA. He directs ISACA’s CobiT
Projects, with the objective to set, enhance and maintain the internationally
accepted standard for control and governance over IT. Erik was previously with
SWIFT, as Director of Security where he held global line responsibilities for
physical security, information security and business continuity and before that,
Chief Inspector, in charge of security audit at the International Banking
Cooperative where he proposed, initiated and oversaw the development and
deployment of the first worldwide public key infrastructure to support the
banking industry’s requirement for secure authentication of financial
transactions. In 1995, he moved to the corporate security function and initiated
a five-year strategy to enhance and maintain his organisation’s leadership
position in secure financial communications. Erik is a Past President of the
Benelux Chapter of ISACA and served as ISACA International Executive Vice
President with responsibility for research.
Adjunct Professor Mike Grant
Executive Director, Avanti Group International
Mike established a reputation in the UK for his work in curriculum development
and the establishment of resourcebased learning in schools supported by
educational technology, before emigrating to Western Australia in 1978 as Senior
Lecturer in Educational Technology at Mount Lawley College of Advanced
Education. He became Head of the Division of Media Services in 1980 and also set
up the College’s educational television network, ECUNET, which was regarded as
a national model in the early nineties. On the formation of Edith Cowan
University, he was made an Associate Professor and in 1995 established Imago,
one of six Cooperative Multimedia Centres in Australia. On retiring from his CEO
position with Imago in 2000, Mike joined Avanti Group International as an
Executive Director, where he is also Chair of EON (Education Online Network).
His major interest is ensuring maximum benefits are derived from the successful
applications of information and communication technologies.
Hugh
Parkes
Consulting Director, The Q Alliance
Hugh is an experienced communicator and author, with extensive consulting
experience advising Boards and Executive Management on corporate and IT
strategy, enterprise governance and business infrastructure development. As Head
of Group Audit, National Australia Bank Group, Hugh was internationally
recognised for world best practice in audit innovation and risk management,
through effective use of technology. He is also experienced in intellectual
capital use in knowledge businesses, uses of information through data mining and
analysis, skill leveraging, customer service capability design and support and
effective team leadership. Hugh has been International Vice President on the
ISACA Board and a member of the IT Governance Institute Board and ISACA /ITGI
Strategy Forum 2004. He is currently Chairman of the Audit Committees for EPA
Victoria, Municipal Association of Victoria, Banyule City and Hume City.
Peter
Price
Chief Executive Officer, Unisys West
Peter leads the operations of one of Western Australia’s leading
Information Technology companies, Unisys West. Unisys West works with local and
international technology partners to offer a range of innovative e-business
solutions which assists clients to eliminate business and IT complexity. Peter
joined the company in February 2005, after five years at Unisys Australia, with
plans to raise the bar in the provision of IT services in Western Australia.
Unisys West continues to lead industry development through groundbreaking
research, dynamic partnerships and a commitment to staffing, finance and
infrastructure.
Mark
Puzey
Partner, Information Risk Management, KPMG
Mark has been KPMG’s Asia Pacific IT Governance Leader for a number of
years. He is a major contributor to the international KPMG whitepaper “Creating
Stakeholder Value in the Informational Age - The Case for IS Governance”. Mark
has presented on IT governance at numerous director courses/workshops and to a
variety of conferences in AsPac; including to the Australian Institute of
Company Directors when the Standards Australia ICT Governance Standard was
released in March 2005.
Dr
Russell G Smith
Principal Criminologist, Australian Institute of Criminology
Russell has qualifications in law, psychology, and criminology from the
University of Melbourne and a PhD from the Faculty of Laws, King’s College,
University of London. He practised as a solicitor for a number of years before
becoming a Lecturer in Criminology at the University of Melbourne in 1990. He
then took up a position at the Australian Institute of Criminology where he is
now Principal Criminologist. He also heads the Institute’s Global Economic and
Electronic Crime Program and has carried out research and published extensively
on aspects of computer crime, fraud control, and professional regulation.
